Summer is hot. Some days are warmer than others, but in general, the humidity, more direct sunlight, and longer days heat up everything. This impacts your whole body, but particularly your lower limbs, since they are usually trapped in hot shoes. Even when your feet are out in sandals, the atmosphere around them can impact their general health and comfort. To keep healthy summer feet that feel comfy and look great, you need to maintain regular foot care. Here are five of the top summer foot care tips:
Moisturize and Protect
Your feet are more prone to heel fissures and sunburn problems if you wear sandals. Make sure you regularly use moisturizer, especially on the heels, after washing your lower limbs. Use sunscreen to protect your feet from burns, which also dry out and damage the skin.
These “shoes” offer no support and very little protection, which can contribute to overuse injuries like heel pain. Instead, choose regular footwear or sandals with midfoot and hindfoot support.
Prevent Blisters from Footwear
Don’t constantly wear brand-new shoes, especially sandals, until they’ve had a chance to form to your feet. Use fitted socks that you change regularly as well, particularly if your feet sweat a lot.
Trim Up Toenails
Keep your nails short and clean. Clip them straight across and keep the edges intact. If you want a pedicure, make sure you investigate the salon first so that you know it is safe.
These are simple, basic ways to maintain healthy summer feet. They don’t take up much time while still benefitting your lower limbs. If you want your feet looking great as you walk around with your friends, take a few minutes every day to invest in them.
