Time to Take Out Nail Fungus

Comments (0)

It is awards season, which means the parade of celebrity dresses and sparkly shoes is here. When the Oscars take place at the end of February, magazines and fashion blogs will be saturated with news about who wore what and how well it was worn. People will also be judging celeb’s feet, studying their shoes and their pedicures. For anyone struggling with nail fungus this winter, the idea of anyone studying feet and nails can be disconcerting—but spring and summer are coming, and so are sandals that show off your toes.

If you want to be able to show your toes in sandals without featuring embarrassingly discolored nails, you can’t wait for warmer weather to take care of the problem. Nail fungus takes quite a while to eliminate. The pathogen causing the infection has to be destroyed and the keratin that makes up your nails has to grow back healthy. This all takes time.

The sooner you deal with the issue, the easier it is to eliminate—and the sooner you see clear nails again. There are several ways to treat fungal nails, including topical medications, oral medicines, and a laser nail procedure. Topical medications eradicate the infection on the surface of the feet, but have trouble with the infection under the nail. Oral medication travels through your blood stream to your nail bed, targeting the fungus directly. Both of these are effective, particularly when paired together, but take time to work.

A laser nail procedure is a quick alternative option. It uses highly focused light to eradicate the infection without harming your nail. It has no side effects and is largely painless. Better still, it eliminates the fungus quickly, allowing healthy, clear keratin to begin re-growing right away.

With the weather still cold and frightful, you might not being thinking about how spring is right around the corner, but it is. Sandal season is coming sooner than you think. If you don’t want to hide discolored nails all spring and summer, now is the time to eliminate that nail fungus, so your new keratin has time to grow in healthy and clear.
