Enjoy a color guard, veteran’s ceremony, and special musical guests, and compete for top awards. Come out and show off your prized possession! On a different note, if bunions are keeping your feet from being a prized possession, we’ve got some exercises for bunion pain relief that could win an award and put a spring back into your step.
Unfortunately, you may have your parents to blame for your bunions if you inherited a poor foot structure, but wearing ill-fitting shoes may also be to blame for your bunion pain. In addition to making sure you wear comfortable, supportive shoes, ease your discomfort and slow bunion progression with these easy exercises. You can even print them out and tape them to the fridge, so you can get them done as part of your morning routine.
Resist and Pull
Wrap a towel around your big toe and push down with your toe as you gently pull the towel towards you.
Spread a towel on the floor and use your toes to grip it and pull it towards you.
Put 20 marbles on the floor and use your toes to pick them up one by one and set them in a bowl. This and the previous exercise help your feet stay flexible.
Big Toe Stretch
Gently stretch your big toe back into proper alignment and hold for ten seconds, Repeat three to four times before switching feet.
Press your toes against the bottom of a wall so they are stretched and flexed. Hold for ten seconds and repeat a few times before switching to the other foot.
